The officer manning the boat was Paul Porter, who stayed after making sergeant.
I served in the Harbor Section from 1975-1984 as an officer. I worked river patrol, boating safety office teaching public safety classes and accident investigations. I assisted in body recoveries ,river rescues and worked when Air Florida went down in 1982. I enjoyed my time at the Harbor Unit and was reassigned after being promoted to sergeant in 1984.
I feel bad but can not remember his name but the officer manning the boat above was my Sgt. in old clothes back in the mid 70s. A great guy. Actually my first Lt. out of the Academy in SOD was Lt Ivy also of the Harbor Branch. Some great people came out of that unit.
