Donations Dedications in Honor or Memory
In honor of the men and women of the MPDC’s 2nd District who inspired me as an MPDC Reserve Officer from 1976-1978 and on to a 25-year law enforcement career culminating as Chief of Patrol for the Fairfax County Police Department (retired in 2002); Those officers and supervisors who inspired me were: Corbin Weeks, Regina Stitcher, Barbara Waters, Sgt. Ed Jones, Dave Hayhurst, Stanley Hawkins, Charlie Moss, Wallace Terry, Jerry Duke and most importantly Jack Sabella and E.T. Smith. I am forever indebted to them.

$1,000 donation – In memory of my friend and colleague from the Fourteenth Precinct and the Robbery Squad, Sergeant Hank Daly, and to the 30 MPD Officers killed in the line of duty during my watch, to the other fallen officers from the Metropolitan Police Department and all of the fallen officers across this great country we call America. May you all Rest in Peace.
Donation in memory of: William R. Shelton who served the MPD during the 1950s and 1960s and retired as a Capt. assigned to the U.S. Capitol. As a Sgt., he was assigned to the auto squad. His father, William Franklin Shelton, grandfather Benjamin Franklin Shelton, great grandfather Wm Gales Shelton also served with the MPD. Two sons, Franklin Shelton and Charles Shelton served with the U.S. Capitol Police.
In memory of Shirley Gibson, whose light will continue to shine for survivors and law enforcement officers across the country. Rest in peace, my friend.
In memory of Shirley Gibson who shared with us a life well-lived. I had the honor of meeting and chatting with her once, at the Heroes, Inc. Golf Tournament, Twin Lakes Golf Course in Clifton, VA and she was instantly my Mom as well. Godspeed, Shirley. You will be remembered and missed.
