The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department Memorial & Museum Project announces its new website at www.dcpolice.us.
The new site will serve as an information tool for the not-for-profit efforts to raise funds to:
- renovate the unsightly water fountain memorial located outside police headquarters, which was built in 1942, and integrate it into a new memorial by,
- designing, building and maintaining a police memorial befitting to those who made the ultimate sacrifice and,
- reestablish, fund and operate a museum to educate residents, the young, and visitors to our Nation’s Capital of our unique and rich history.
These three projects will take place in front of, adjacent to, and inside police headquarters at 300 Indiana Avenue, respectively.
The board of directors intends the website to allow everyone to follow our efforts and learn more about the Memorials and Museum. Please sign up to receive regular updates on our progress by clicking here.
