On April 15th, investigator Wayne David’s name was officially added to the Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Memorial. On Monday, May 5, 2025, David will be remembered and honored, along with 125 other fallen officers of the MPD.
The MPD’s 46th Annual Washington Area Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Service will be held at 11:30am at the DC Police Memorial.
The MPD and the DC Police Memorial hold a regional service each May to honor officers who died in the line of duty in the past year and also all our fallen heroes since the creation of the MPD by President Abraham Lincoln.
For more than 80 years, the DC Police Memorial Fountain has served as a place of solace and reflection for many surviving family members, friends, colleagues and others who have kept their memories alive.
The service is a solemn reminder of their selfless service and sacrifice, and the immeasurable debt of gratitude we owe to officers who have given their life to serve and protect our communities.
