About The Washington DC Metropolitan Police Memorial & Museum
Washington, DC Metropolitan Police Memorial and Museum is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our goal is to honor the fallen heroes of the Metropolitan Police Department. We are also establishing a Metropolitan Police Museum to preserve their legacy as well as the rich and unique history of policing in the nation’s Capital.
A memorial fountain built in 1942 by the citizens and business community of Washington, D.C. exists currently. However, it is dilapidated. However, we must appropriately honor the sacrifices of the men and women of the Metropolitan Police Department of Washington, D.C. Our goal is to honor those who have been killed in the line of duty. An effort is also well underway to build a more fitting memorial.
There is also a proposed site is in front of the historic headquarters of the Washington, D.C.Metropolitan Police Department. You can also see the memorial on Indiana Avenue. A museum of police history and artifacts will also be established.
