I was an officer during the riots. I was on the cordon in front of the DC Transit buses around the White House. One demonstrator tried to get help to take my gun away from me and shoot me with it. Nobody would help him, so he faded away. Unbeknown to him, there were 4 plain cloths officers waiting for me to give them the word to grab him and haul him away. One of the stewardesses from Ft-90 was in the Potomac river and a man from PA swam out and saved here. He wasn’t an officer or anything, just a passer by. There was ice chunks in the river. I have many stories from that time.
